Rita Skaggs | Scholarship Committee Chairman

A native of Columbus, GA. Rita graduated from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing now Mercer University.

She and her husband Louie have been residents of Reynolds Lake Oconee since 2001. Rita retired from a career in Critical Care Cardiac Nursing – experience in nursing education, nurse management, Cardiac Procedures, Outcomes Management, and Cardiology Research. Her hobbies include English smocking, piano, traveling, bridge, spectator sports involving grandchildren – baseball, swim, gymnastics, volleyball, golf, karate, and lacross.

Volunteer opportunities include being a Brownie Leader, Preschool teacher with Lake Oconee Community Bible Study, Youth Alliance Putnam and Greene County Reading Buddy, Youth Alliance Scholarship Student Mentor. She is past Treasurer of LOYA amd is currently serving as Chairman of the Youth Alliance Scholarship Steering Committee and Selection Committee.
